Hair that describes my day

A bit crazy. I started the day looking for new flooring. That was a bust. We really need to figure out if we have a drainage problem that is causing our slab to be wet before we can figure out what material will work. So, calls to contractors, landscapers banks, etc. Still no nothing, including whether or not we will have the money to do these now necessary projects.
This afternoon I dropped my phone on the ground like I have a hundred times trying to get Cason out of the car. This time I shattered the screen. Oh well. It still works and my contract is up this summer anyways. Just in time for the new one.
I'm going to bed... Except Cason doesn't seem to feel like sleeping... Just screaming.
Me too sweetie, me too. :)

When life gives you lemons make blueberry basil lemonade

Wow. What a week. Vbs was this week and it was completely exhausting but nothing compared to what was going on at home.

Remember those beautiful bamboo floors I had put in a few weeks ago? The ones I haven't even had time to put good photos of. Well, they are gone. Like they weren't even here. In their place? Bare. Untreated. Concrete.

If I could pull myself off the chair I could post pictures but my legs don't work anymore because I have spent the weekend dusting everything. We. Own. I'm not even kidding.

So what happened. Short story. The floors buckled beyond repair and they had to come up. They say it's because our concrete is too damp and we need to fix te drainage problem in our backyard or wood wouldn't work at all. We are getting a second opinion. Maybe a third. Oh, I'm getting my money back too.
For now we are stuck watching a 50" tv from 2' away. It's a little much.

Hopefully I can go puck out new floors tomorrow. Who knows what we will find.

Here's what we get to live on until then.

Swimming Love.

My first pool

Cason loves to swim.  He loves swimming in the bathtub and he really loves swimming in the pool.  This picture was taken Memorial day at Lolli’s house in his very own pool.  I think we will be doing some swimming lessons this summer!

Random Road Trip- Oklahoma City

I took Mike on a wonderful vacation for his birthday.  He turned 31 the day before Cason turned 1.  Since it had been a crazy year and his birthday will forever be overshadowed by Casons, I thought it would be fun to take him somewhere.  We have been to San Antonio a bunch and I had read about Bricktown in Oklahoma City once and I thought it would be fun.  So, I booked the best looking bed and breakfast I could find.

Here’s our bathroom.  It was very cute and old.  I had gotten a special package that included bath “amenities”, chocolate dipped strawberries, sparkling grape juice and an in-room massage.  Since it was Mikes birthday, I told him he could have the massage… but lucky for me, he didn’t want it!

Here’s our strawberries.  They were super yummy!

Mike and I were both sick that day and but we did find a really nice place for dinner and drove around a little that evening.

Here’s the awesome wallpaper and lamp that was in our room.  I’m trying to find copies so I can have my very own.

Bricktown… hmmm…. we were not really impressed.  there was not very much shopping at all and not much to see.  We found a good place to eat but that’s about it.

The Oklahoma City Memorial is worth going to see.  I’ve been twice and it’s incredibly powerful. I’m going to try and post pictures on my other blog soon.  Maybe because it happened so close to home or maybe because I remember when it happened.  I don’t know why I’m so moved by the memorial but it’s truly an amazing site.  I highly recommend you going to Oklahoma City just for this.
