Any tips on giving a breastfed baby a bottle when I'm not around? He did good with bottles for 3 weeks then this past week decided to have nothing to do with it. Apparently screaming when offered a bottle. Any help would be appreciated.
Both of my boys went through phases where they didn't want a bottle. They both got over it without us really doing anything in particular. Is the bottle room temp or straight from the fridge? Caden never liked cold bottles. Just keep at it. If he is hungry enough, he will take it. :-P
uh, Catherine, I know it's been a while and this is a weird way to reconnect, but I have two words: Sugar nipple. Wet, dip (bottle) nipple into sugar, let him suck, repeat. Jackson would have starved himself, I'm sure of it, and I was desperate. It only took a few dips before he caught on and took the rest of the bottle without protest. Please don't judge me. He didn't have any other sugar until his 1st birthday cake, I promise! And I had tried about 10 different nipples with no luck!

Oh, I never tried the sugar..wish I would have. Jules and Mia never took a bottle. Well, Mia did at first too then stopped Occasionally, while staying with my MIL she would get them to take a little but not much. They just screamed bloody murder until I returned. They would actually gag if it even touched their tongue.
Now, if you try the sugar let us know how it works out. I'm really interested to see if it will work for you too.
Mine were nipple picky! Go figure, that after trying every kind in the world, I tried the Parent's Choice brand at Walmart and Voila! And they were only $1 nipple/bottle and all! You never know!
That's tough. Mckenzee never took a bottle and I bought them all. Riley will take the playtex nurser after several tries. One thing that seems to help and I guess it's along the same lines as the sugar thing is to dip the nipple in some breastmilk.
